About Me

My photo
My name is Amber and I am seventeen years old. My greatest interest is my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I like to dabble in photography and writing, so this blog is a mix of my photos and stories. I also might at times post some heartwise articles. Please enjoy; I always appreciate comments.

NaNoWriMo Prep

Hi all! I'm sorry it has been so long since I wrote last. My life is a complete whirlwind at the moment. I am scrambling to complete a bunch of things before November 1. This year I am going to try National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). It is a challenge to complete a 50,000 word novel in the month of November. Sound intimidating? It does to me too. Yet I am still crazy enough to try it.

Because of this, November is going to be a very busy month for me. I will try to come on and post, but don't be surprised if I am a little silent. I'll be back come December.

I have also been trying to finish a number of tasks before November. I recently redid my room when my sister married, so it has been a rush to make it nice before I have no time to work on it. Thankfully, I only need to finish some closet organization and I will have it finished. (Except for some final touches that can wait.)

So I am going to busy and I am kind of scared, but I am excited too. I think that this is really going to push me to write more and to have better time management. At least, I am going to have to learn the latter; it's sink or swim!

I would greatly appreciate your prayers during this month. Not just that I would complete the challenge, but also that I would just grow spiritually and in my motivation. I am a youngest child and can naturally tend to take things slow and easy.  Here are some specific prayer requests.

~That I would learn to rely on God through this and not on myself.
~That I would learn to manage my time well.
~That I would not become task focused and lose sight of my relationships with people.
~That I would reach my goal.

Thanks so much! I will leave you with some recent pics with my new camera. I'm still learning. :)

A fall bouquet!

Love those eyes!

Roses are Red, or Maybe Pink?

Hi all! A few days ago, my mom said to me, "We need to throw those flowers out. They are starting to become old."

Well, the photographer in me jumped at that. "Can I use them for a photoshoot first, PLEASE?" I was given permission. I promptly removed three of the best blossoms from the vase and headed outside.

This is my personal favorite. I love "in the grass" shots.

I placed this one inside a pinwheel in our backyard. If you look closely, you can tell why my mom was ready to throw the roses away.

While I was snapping, this little guy came bounding over. Sadly, when I tried to close in on him for a better shot, he was gone.

More grass photos. Ahhhhh!

After trying all possible shots and poses, I set up my last scene. I had been itching to float the flowers in the birdbath, but I knew that I had to do that last. I wasn't going to be touching the flowers again after they were in that gross water. I know, I'm part germaphobe. :)

All three floating serenely.

I had a ton of fun with this photoshoot, and I hope you enjoyed this peek at the pictures that came from it!
