About Me

My photo
My name is Amber and I am seventeen years old. My greatest interest is my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I like to dabble in photography and writing, so this blog is a mix of my photos and stories. I also might at times post some heartwise articles. Please enjoy; I always appreciate comments.

Life as of Late

It has been much too long since I posted. As of June 6, I am an auntie to little Miss Brielle. Here's
some pictures I took of the little sweetie.

Life.

Wow, time is really flying by. I've been fairly busy; and haven't had much time to post. I thought that I would stop by for a quick moment and post a few recent pictures. Have a blessed week!

Our church has this expectant mother seeking refuge on the property.

At a recent conference at our church, I took some pictures. One of my little friends :) asked me if I would take a picture of her shoes. Who could resist?

Happy Resurrection Sunday!

Hi all! This is just a quick post. First I want to share with you a few of my favorite Easter/Resurrection Sunday songs. I hope they bless you this Easter season. :)

Then Came the Morning by Signature Sound

Now here are just a few photos that I have taken throughout the past weeks. I hope you enjoy them!

This neighbor puppy was totally adorable.

This little plane sat on top of a swingset. Its color reminded me of Nate Saint's little yellow plane.

Roofing Pigeons

Today I thought I would share some pigeon pics. :) Our family has birdfeeders in our front yard that many birds enjoy frolicing in. We have a few pigeons (I think) that frequent our place. Out of all the birds, they seem to be the least skittish, so I was able to take some photos of them a few days ago. I only managed one at the bottom of the feeders, then it flew away.

Then I noticed that it had landed on the roof, just on the other side.

I went around to take a better look and found both of the pigeons had taken position on the roof.

Someone had a itch

They are so cute when they schrunch themselves down like that. They don't even look like pigeons anymore.

Which of the two above pictures do you like better?

This is my favorite of them all.

Spring!

More posts are coming soon, but I couldn't help but share this picture of a fluffy cottonwood seed that I captured yesterday. (I know that the picture overlaps the sidebar, but I can't fix it without making the picture so small that it doesn't have the same effect. So please bear with me. :) )

Messing with Manual ~~ The Necklace

F/3.5 (aperture/f-stops) 1/60s (shutter speed)

For this second Messing with Manual installment, I would like to share with you some photos of a necklace that I captured several weeks ago. There is no special story behind the necklace. Except that it made a good photo op. I've been trying to take objects outside and put them in places where they wouldn't normally be. The above picture was posed on a backyard pinwheel.

F/5 (aperture) 1/200s (shutter speed)
I started simple; I lay it first in the grass.
I thought this picture was a touch dark, but I'm not sure. What do you think?

F/5  1/60s
Maybe I want a little too far the other direction on this one's lighting. I don't know if you've noticed but I seem to play more with the shutter speed than the aperture. I feel as though I have more range that way. Maybe more experienced photographers could tell me whether or not it would be better to try to change the aperture more.

F/4.7 1/125s
The focus is almost there. :)

I loved how the chain ended up forming a heart shape.

Now we've moved to the bush.

Back to the pinwheel. :) Although it was kind of an odd place, it ended up being a pretty combination.
